Abstract

Purpose: The study purposes were to explore the current status of environmental management to prevent allergy in school setting and to identify disease knowledge and educational needs related to allergy among school nurses.

Methods: The data collected from January 8, to January 11, 2018, and a total of 73 subjects were used for the final analysis. The number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, Borich Needs Assessment Model, and the Locus for Focus Model were used to analyze the collected data.

Results: This study showed that the level of environmental management and disease knowledge were moderate. Educational needs for high-ranking were side effect of medication and special day management.

Conclusion: The results refers that administers need to establish environmental management policies to prevent allergy in the school setting. Educational needs should be considered to improve disease knowledge when developing educational training programs for school nurses.
